“This is a place where the land is still honored, where those who lived here before us are not forgotten. This is Mountain’s Edge, a master planned community where the legends of the Old West meet the luxuries of enlightened community design.”
The culmination of a dream long held by developer John A. Ritter and his Focus Property Group team, Mountain’s Edge contains over 12,500 lots located on 3,500 acres in the southwestern part of the Las Vegas Valley. The master planner’s goal for Mountain’s Edge is to provide a genuine sense of depth, character and community to everyone who lives here. This becomes evident from the moment you enter any of the master plan’s neighborhoods.
Set in a spectacular desert canyon at the edge of the western foothills with much care being taken to preserve much of the natural desert environment, this development has incorporated more than 500 acres of open space, parks and trail systems that will allow residents to truly enjoy their surroundings. The signature feature of Mountain’s Edge is Exploration Peak, a fully restored natural mountain park re-vegetated by the developer with nearly 10,000 native plants. There are trails leading to vantage points offering incredible views of the Las Vegas Valley. Picnic areas, walking paths, a western themed playground and an amphitheater are just some of the amenities planned for this park.
There are six parks planned throughout the community, connected by a series of paseos for walking and biking. Other planned community features include four elementary schools, two middle schools, a high school, a local fire station and several acres devoted to retail shops and commercial office space. Located at the community entrance is the Mountain’s Edge Home Search Café, where potential residents can view community maps, enjoy a cup of specialty coffee and tour the desert demonstration garden to gain ideas for environmentally friendly landscape plans.
There are 21 participating builders working at Mountain’s Edge and homes are closing weekly. Mountain’s Edge is the valley’s first master plan designed from inception as a drought tolerant community, achieving an approximate savings of 200 million gallons of water annually over typical turf installations.
Mountain’s Edge is truly a vision realized. It is where the land of legend has become land for living.
